Search visibility

Help the right customers find your business.

SEO, GEO and AEO are three names for helping the right people find your business: in search results, in the answers AI tools give, and in answers that quote a source.

Three names, one idea.

The abbreviations are easy to find confusing. They are related ways of describing the same job, not three separate products.

SEO
Search engine optimisation: making it easy for search engines to find, read and understand your pages.
GEO
Generative engine optimisation: the same clarity, for AI tools that write an answer from several sources.
AEO
Answer engine optimisation: giving direct, accurate answers to the questions customers actually ask.

What it usually involves.

What is useful for your business is decided after we have looked at it. These are the parts we start from.

Check what is there

How your site and your business details appear today, and what a customer or a search tool would find missing or unclear.

Fix the basics

Page titles and descriptions, headings, structure, speed on phones, and making sure the pages can be crawled and indexed.

Make local information accurate

Opening hours, address, services and contact details that are correct and say the same thing everywhere they appear.

Answer the questions customers ask

Useful service pages and answers written from what your business really knows, instead of generic text.

Measure what matters

Track the calls, requests and bookings that come from search, and read visibility figures as supporting signals.

What search tools say themselves.

Google's own guidance on its AI search features is a useful sanity check.

Google says there are no additional technical requirements for appearing in its AI features: the same foundations apply, including pages that can be crawled and indexed, content in text form and a good page experience. It also says that indexing and appearing in results is not guaranteed.

That guidance covers Google. It does not describe how every AI tool chooses its sources. Read Google’s guidance (opens in a new tab), checked on 22 October 2026.

What nobody can honestly promise.

We will not offer these, and you should be wary of anyone who does.

  • A particular ranking position.
  • A fixed increase in enquiries.
  • A place in AI answers.
  • A set number of mentions, links or citations.

Is it right for you?

The website comes first. Search visibility is a follow-on, not an automatic add-on.

It makes most sense when:

  • Your website is clear and up to date.
  • Customers search for what you offer.
  • You can handle more enquiries if they arrive.

If it would not help yet, we say so and suggest what to do first. Looking for researched written content produced regularly, for a marketing team or an agency? See content production.

Talk about being found.

A short online conversation about your business and what a website could do for it. You decide afterwards whether you want a quote.

Questions about search visibility.

What is the difference between SEO, GEO and AEO?

They are related names for the same aim: making it easy for the right people to find you. SEO is about search results, GEO about the answers AI tools write from several sources, and AEO about giving direct, accurate answers to real questions. In practice they share the same foundations: clear, accurate, useful information that search tools can read.

Can you guarantee first place on Google, or a mention in AI answers?

No, and nobody can honestly promise it. Search results and AI answers depend on many things outside anyone's control. We work on what is in your control: the clarity and accuracy of what you publish, and whether search tools can read it.

Do I need this if I am getting a new website?

Not automatically. A new website is built so search engines can read it, and that is the foundation. Further work makes sense when your customers search for what you offer and you can handle more enquiries. We tell you if we do not think it would help.

How do you measure it?

By the enquiries that matter to your business: calls, requests and bookings that come from search. Visibility figures such as impressions, positions or mentions are supporting signals, not the goal. Which of these can be measured depends on what your site and tools can record, and we explain that before you decide.

Do you write content for it?

Sometimes. Useful pages written from your real expertise are one part of visibility. Where a team needs researched articles produced regularly, that is a separate service described on the content production page.
